August 2nd- Airport Fun!

To start off our 2025 ISAMR Journey we were packed and driving at 6am by Carla’s husband, Mikey, on one of Park’s busses to Dulles Airport in DC. We were given the challenge of the day which was to learn something new about someone and find the person with the closest birthday. We arrived at Dulles Airport around 7:30am and unloaded the bus, bringing everything into the Airport check-in for Air Canada, unaware of the day we were about to have. Check in took forever and we missed our original flight at 10:30am due to a problem with our tickets (the airlines fault, of course).

We played Spot It where Akeyla crushed us all and around 11:30am Julie was in the Air Canada office coordinating everything for us.

At 1pm we got $15 meal vouchers and moved to Reagan Airport because our new flight was there. The plan is to go from DC-Chicago-Toronto, staying overnight, then to Winnipeg.

At 5:30pm we ate at Atlas and because there wasn’t a large enough table we put 6 small tables together so that we could all eat together. We got pretzels and wings for appetizers with super spicy mustard dipping sauce which was like knives to the mouth. We boarded the first plane at 6:45pm and landed in Chicago at 8:30pm. Around 9:15pm we departed Chicago and landed around 12:30am in Toronto, and got out of customs around 1:30am. At 2am we arrived at the hotel, but there were no rooms available, so we were going to sleep in the lobby, but the workers said we couldn’t do that so around 3am-3:30am we went back to the airport to get some much needed rest.
