August 11 - Field work and Olympic games!

At the start of August 11th, we all gathered around the breakfast table to eat delicious pancakes before setting out to site W-12 to both probe and analyze the plants there. At site W-1, 2, we played an ISAMR Olympic Game. This happened due to how difficult the site was to probe. For this game, we had a contest to see which team could probe the fastest! And after a very tiring contest, the winners were team Jill!!!

After sampling the site, we trekked back to Nesterr as it was supposed to rain, and had a hearty lunch of stir fry and spaghetti. After lunch, we had an hour of rest and sadly had to say goodbye to Joaquin, one of the JCRs, because he had a family trip he just couldn’t miss. After the hour was up, it was time to get some work done, so we all split up into groups with different jobs. For example, some people worked on data while others worked on the blog! After some group work, it was dinner timeand we all got together to eat tacos. After Tacos, we all gathered for a continuation of a previous ISAMR Olympic game of Uno, where team Julie was triumphant. After uno, some people continued group work while others played an intense game of In-between (A card game that Joaquin and Jamil taught us). Overall, it was a pretty big day, and we are excited for what comes next. - Adam and Tylor
