Blog Update August 16

Today, we started our journey back to Baltimore and said goodbye to our Canadian friends, whom we had just spent the last week of our lives with. We wanted to start cleaning camp Nanuq in preparation for our departure. About halfway into cleaning, some of us got together to go back to the CNSC so we could get any merch we wanted to bring home. Thank you to everyone who helped clean while we were gone. Once my group finished buying merch for us and our families, we headed back to camp Nanuq to fully pack our bags and suitcases for when we were ready to leave. After that we had some time to relax, so we went to what's called the Complex where we people toured and ice skated. When it was time for us to say bye to our Canadian friends, we went to the airport and gave hugs and promises of visits. After, we had about two hours until our train came so we went to dinner. When we got there, the place had full tables but it was fine since we were ordering to go since there were ten of us, and we assumed it would take some time, so once we got it we would head right to the train station and eat it on the train. They said it would take an hour, which was fine because that would leave us about a thirty minutes to get to the station and load our stuff.

While Vicki and Julie waited for the food, the rest of us split up into two groups. One group got drinks and some snacks for the rest of the trip and the other group went to get things at gift shops since they missed out on getting stuff before. When we were done we met up at the front of the store and headed back to the cars. When we got back, the food still wasn't ready, so Adam took us to what he called the best playground in Churchill. After we hung out for a bit we headed back to the cars because it was getting close to our departure time, but the food still wasn't ready yet. Since we needed to get there to get our stuff unloaded, we drove to the train station and the people at the restaurant said they would tell us when our food was done. Once we got our stuff loaded, the bus was going to leave soon so we got on, but we still hadn't gotten any messages of our food being ready. We sent Vicki and Adam to go and get whatever food was made and to take it back with them, but as we sent them out one of the train attendants came and said we would be leaving in about 10 minutes. We couldn't do anything but wait and hope for the best If they didn't have the food, Vicki would just hurry back and we would snack on what we bought at the store. But luckily they had finished most of our orders so Vicki and Adam grabbed the food and rushed back just in time. After that little fiasco we ate what we had and have now started our trip back to Baltimore.
