August 14 - Last Day in Nester

Today we had a late morning, sleeping in till 10 am to rest from yesterday’s long hike. Waking up to beautiful, fluffy pancakes with frozen berries and maple syrup, and sausages on the side. After breakfast, we all went to get field ready and headed to a fox den around midday. When we got there and started sampling the site, it started to become super windy and rainy. We finished and headed back (now in full rain gear) to Nester 1.

When we got back, happy hour was all set up with chips, crackers, and cheese dip. Then we had a rest hour to recharge and dinner of chicken alfredo and garlic bread.  After dinner, we had 2 hours of work time for the blog, plant ID books, data, photos, and presentation. Halfway through work time, we had brownies for dessert, which tasted amazing. (thanks Miya -Hayden )

Lights-out time got pushed back to 12:30, so we stayed up doing the tradition of making a board to put in the bathroom. The weather conditions didn’t get any better, though, and actually got worse. When we were heading to our tents, we could see that they were struggling a bit, so we tightened what we could and went to bed. Goodnight! - Eric and Miya
