Last Train Ride
Hey y’all, today was a long and bittersweet day. We all woke up some time around 8ish, and for breakfast we ate up the leftovers. Some people had carrots and peanut butter, and others had oatmeal. While eating, we all tried to enjoy ourselves, but we were all still sad, missing our Linn Lake and Churchill friends. It was a long train ride, and we passed time with cards, beading, and a puzzle. But there was a 3-hour delay due to track repairs and a 2-mile-long cargo train traffic. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our time outside doing stretching and getting our blood pumped. We even got to try some fresh spring water from a man who lived in the area.
Also, fortunately, because of the delay, we were given a free dinner of burgers after our MRE lunches. After dinner we did some PR training through role playing so we could communicate fully just how incredible the trip was. Afterwards, we relaxed and packed up all of our things, expecting to get to the train station at any moment. Eventually, near 12, we got to Union Station in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and we picked up our luggage and headed over to the hotel near 1:30. Once there, everyone showered and rested up for the long travels that awaited us later that day.
Signing off, Carter
