Finally in Thompson!
Just past midnight, as we were going to bed, the train started moving again. We went to bed and slept very well until around 7:30 am, when Julie and Carla woke us up. Miya, Lauren, Madeleine, Mia, Julie, and I went shopping, while the rest of the group stayed on the train. The shopping group Ubered to the grocery store that the conductor of the train recommended, and we split into 3 teams, each with a different list of things to get. In less than an hour, we got everything that we needed that the store had! We filled up 4 or 5 shopping carts and got all of the groceries back to the train station.
We got all of our stuff off of the train, then Carla led us in some yoga with our fellow travelers in the station while waiting for the bus. We all boarded the bus and got settled for the 10-hour bus ride.
We stopped around 1 pm for lunch at a Subway in the middle of nowhere. The train line paid for us, so we all bought both lunch and dinner. We were there for about an hour, then Miya and I made a new friend, Elias (el-ee-us) from the UK!
We got back on the bus until around 4, when we made a quicker stop this time. We finally got into Thompson around 7:30 pm and got all of our stuff off of the bus, and met the people from Lynn Lake: Kammi, Cherish, Mazlan, and Divine! We also talked to Elias more and got his contact info to hang out on the train.
We got on and talked for a little bit, then Elias found us and more people kept joining: Brynn, Syd, Jersey, and Dane/Tooie, who were all going to Churchill for a family reunion. At that point we split; some of us stayed and talked with our new friends, and some people went to bed. The people who stayed up went to bed around midnight when Julie told us we had to go to bed. It was a little cramped, but we made it work.
