Trip to Thompson

We started the morning by making french toast, bacon, eggs, and fruit. Our lunches on the train were some leftovers and ramen. We cleaned up the Airbnb, then took Ubers to the train station.

Then we checked in and had about an hour until our train left. So we hung out, played some games, and a few of us went on a walk with Carla.

Then we got on the train and left at around 12:30. We had a good section of a train car that fit the Lynn Lakers and us, and for the first 45 mins we did an icebreaker activity to get to know each other even better. After that, we had free time until around 6 pm.

In that time we napped, played games, looked out the windows, hung out, and talked. We ate our dinner of MREs, which were alright.

Then, we were late to our 6 pm stop, and at about 7 there was an announcement that we were turning around and heading back to Winnipeg due to plumbing, heating, and other issues. There was stress in the group because we were going 14 hours of travel without any progress. Julie and Carla gave us a little pep talk and reminded us that we always got to Churchill. Just after that, the conductor told us that we are, in fact, going back to Winnipeg, but that most likely there will be a 10 am bus to get us to Thompson, still on time!! Then a 5 pm train from Thompson to Churchill, which is the original departure time! We also watched the sunset.

Around 11:45, the conductor came through again and told us that we were going to stop here for the night and then go back to Winnipeg in the morning. But we did get to see the bright orange moon!

Bye and Goodnight!
